What does Paid and/or Good Through Date mean?

The “Paid Through Date” or “PTD” is the date that the container is satisfied through, either by the settlement of fees due, allotment of free time or a Hapag-Lloyd release process.  This can also be considered the “Good Through Date.”  This is beyond and different from the original “Last Free Day” or “LFD.”

What data will I be able to see in the Portal?

Hapag Lloyd Customers will have access to a Container Watchlist which provides full container status event visibility throughout the Container Lifecycle, including Last Free Day management.  By entering a pick-up date, the portal will dynamically calculate any demurrage fees due while allowing registered users to settle the charges using their PayCargo account.

How do I request a refund?

Is this Portal only for demurrage, detention charges? Or other charges? Freight?

Currently, this portal is only for the settlement of U.S. import demurrage charges.  However, all charge types can be settled at PayCargo.com

Can I use this portal to pay Terminal storage charges?

Please refer to individual Terminal instructions as to how to settle charges levied by the Terminal Operator.

Post payment, how long will it take for my container to be released at the Terminal?

The Portal has established direct connectivity with the Terminal Operating Systems.  Communications flow back and forth in a timely manner.  Some Terminals rely on EDI messaging which is not immediate and may experience a delay of up to one [1] hour to reflect status changes.

How do I register to make payments in PayCargo?
Can I pay freight charges, export demurrage, empty detention or other Hapag Lloyd charges via PayCargo?

Yes, you may make Hapag Lloyd invoiced payments at PayCargo.com

Can I also make payments at PayCargo.com or do I need to go through the Portal?

Yes, you may also make payments at PayCargo.com

Will I still be able to make payments directly to Hapag Lloyd or the Terminal Operator?

No, all import demurrage payments must be paid through the portal via PayCargo starting on the Terminal Go-Live date.

What is the difference between Port, CH and CIT move designations?

“Port” represents “Merchant Haulage” import movements, whereby “CH” represents “Carrier Haulage” container moves.  “CIT” stands for “Container Inland Terminal” and identifies an inland rail movement.

Who do I contact for more information on Container Holds displayed in the Container Watchlist?

Container Holds from Hapag-Lloyd will show as either “Line” or “Line Demurrage.” For any other holds, please contact the Marine Terminal Operator.
